Practical AI Workshops · Watermoor Point · Cirencester
Real-world artificial intelligence.
One hour a month.
Once a month, Watermoor Point hosts a hands-on AI training workshop for businesses of all sizes based on-site and across the wider Cirencester area. It is free for members, capped at twelve people per session, and grouped by experience level.
This isn't a lecture. It's a forum for sharing ideas, trading real-world experiences, and learning from each other.
Why we run it
Real utility,
not marketing hype.
Watermoor Point uses AI in almost everything we do, and we are still learning what works. We run this workshop because other businesses in the Cotswolds and Gloucestershire might find our trial-and-error useful.
In active use.
We use AI daily to operate this site: warehouse management, finance, compliance, the Riverside Hotel, the Trinity Road offices, and the lock-up garages. Each area has tasks that the technology now does better, faster, or for the very first time. What we share isn't theory. It's what is working this month, what failed last month, and what we are still figuring out.
107 members, 107 starting points.
More than a hundred businesses of all sizes share this site, from sole traders to scaling enterprises, and everyone is at a different place on the AI learning curve. The workshop is a place to compare notes, ask the awkward questions, and demystify the rest. There is no "guru" at the front. The room does the talking; the chair keeps time and learns alongside.
Sessions
What to expect.
Each workshop runs to a reliable format, so you know exactly what you are walking into.
- 01
Format
One hour. On-site at Watermoor Point. Free for members. Once a month.
- 02
By experience
Four streams: New, Casual, Regular, and Expert. Each session is capped at twelve to help encourage active discussion.
- 03
On the screen
Bring a real task. We work it through on a live tool, in front of the group, until it does the thing.
- 04
What you take away
Practical methods you can put to work the same afternoon, and a clearer sense of which tools earn their keep.
Topics
What we actually talk about.
We skip the philosophical debates and focus on utility. Sessions follow the questions in the room, but here is a starter list of what we cover.
-
Integrating AI at work
Using CoPilot seamlessly across your existing software to speed up finance, communications, and project management.
-
Coding for non-coders
Demystifying tools like Claude Code and Codex, and whether they are genuinely useful if you don't have a technical background.
-
Data security
What goes in, what comes out, who sees it, and avoiding the recurring mistakes (data leaks, vendor lock-in, and AI fabrication or hallucinations).
-
ROI
What is actually worth paying a premium subscription for, and what you can do perfectly well for free.
-
A safe starting place
A zero-judgement onboarding for those who haven't even opened an AI tool yet.
Got something else in mind? There is a box for it on the registration form.

How do I join?
Members of Watermoor Point receive an invitation by email when the next session is set. Anyone based on-site who hasn't had one should fill in the form above. Non-members can register interest the same way.
Do I need to be technical?
Not at all. Our AI training is for anyone running a business. Sessions are streamed by experience: New, Casual, Regular, and Expert.
What should I bring?
A laptop is useful for testing tools like Gemini or CoPilot in the room, but it isn't required. A notebook and a good question are all you really need.
Where on-site is it held?
In one of the meeting rooms at Watermoor Point, Watermoor Road, Cirencester GL7 1LF. The exact room is confirmed in your email invitation.
Is there parking?
Yes. Free, on-site, for members and visitors.
Is it really free?
Yes, for any business based at Watermoor Point. There is no upsell.
Can non-members come?
Case by case. The room is primarily meant for businesses on-site, but we welcome prospective members and near-neighbours from Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds. Get in touch at space@watermoorpoint.co.uk.
The chair
Ian Woodward-Court.
Ian Woodward-Court is one of the founders of Watermoor Point and chairs the workshop. He uses AI every day to operate the facility; this is exactly the room he wishes had existed when he first started figuring the technology out.
He also runs context.land, a small consultancy in the same field, and is continually looking for ways to help firms boost productivity.
